Our Welfare Officers play a vital role in ensuring that every rider, parent, coach, and volunteer feels safe, supported, and respected. They are the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and are committed to promoting a positive and inclusive environment for all.

Roles and Responsibilities

Our Welfare Officers are here to:

• Promote Safeguarding and Wellbeing: Ensure that all club activities are safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

• Provide Support: Offer guidance to riders, parents, and volunteers on welfare-related matters, including safeguarding, mental health, and wellbeing.

• Handle Concerns and Complaints: Act as the main point of contact for anyone reporting a welfare concern, ensuring all issues are addressed confidentially and appropriately.

• Work with British Cycling: Follow British Cycling’s safeguarding policies and procedures, including managing DBS checks and ensuring staff and volunteers receive appropriate safeguarding training.

• Uphold Club Policies: Ensure that the club’s safeguarding policies, code of conduct, and disciplinary procedures are maintained and understood by all members.

• Foster an Inclusive Culture: Promote equality, respect, and fair play within the club, encouraging open communication and mutual respect among members.
